It's a different game, much more focus on the Hero than previously, but I actually like it much more than nr 5. Pages: 1. Originally Posted April 2, 2002. Map reliance might be more important for Heroes though as magic can also be used to change terrain to benefit you in AoW and you can actually create your own cities on the map. However positioning in an actual battle is far more important due to the terrain and height actually being factors while Heroes have a very simple grid based Battlefield.
Feb 8, 2015. The HD Edition of Heroes of Might & Magic III introduces some graphical improvements but lacks the modernized user interface introduced to the original game through mods. It is still as enjoyable and time-consuming as ever but for those not opting for the Ios version the Complete Edition has the better content value.
Heroes 3 was a huge hit, at least in my part of the world. Almost everyone been playing it, and everyone loved it. Also, it was like H2 but with more content, so people expected the same from H4. Heroes 4 however was a revolution - I don't think there's a single thing which was left unchanged.
So which one would you choose. I have heard pretty negative stuff about the Steam HD version, so im not sure. GOG version is the whole package. Steam HD version looks pretty, but it's like a demo version. On GOG you also have Heroes Chronicles, several stand-alone campaigns. I'd say that with GOG version you just get several TIMES more content.
